Edo glass - Pink Fuji

This is an exceptional piece that features Mt. Fuji at the bottom of the glass. The intricate design is made by welding glass with strips of gold leaf at high temperatures, creating colors of lapis lazuli, copper red, gold red, and black on the surface of Mt. Fuji motif.

This piece is made by Fumio Tajima, a recipient of the Contemporary Master Craftsman Outstanding Workmanship Award.
