Aside from being easy to hold and having an easy-to-pour spout,  Tokoname-yaki teapot is also widely sought after because of its high quality and elaborate design of the tea strainer. The unique Ceramesh tea strainer was created after years of development, during which craftsmen worked laboriously amid heated competition to come up with the best design.

<p>Tokoname, with a history of 1000 years, is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, a city of pottery steeped in history. Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, is located on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula facing Ise Bay.</p>
